Sky Shooter is an arcade-style vertical scrolling shoot 'em up in the spirit of the classic 1945 games — and it's free in your browser. Pilot a cyan fighter jet up the screen, blast through wave after wave of enemy craft, and face a towering boss every fifth wave. No downloads, no accounts, no sign-ups: hit START and you're in the cockpit within seconds.
Enemies descend in three flavors: basic red fighters that dive straight down, orange fast ships that weave side to side, and heavy purple tank hexagons that take three hits and fire back at you. Every 5th wave, a massive pink boss sweeps in with aimed and spread-shot patterns, speeding up as its health drops. You have three hearts, and a brief invincibility window after every hit. Grab falling power-ups — rapid fire, spread shot, and a shield that absorbs one hit — to turn the tide.
Desktop: Arrow keys or WASD to move, Space to fire (hold it for continuous fire), P to pause.
Mobile: the on-screen d-pad steers the ship, the center button toggles auto-fire on or off, and you can also drag your finger directly on the canvas to fly. Auto-fire is on by default so you only have to focus on dodging.
Every enemy pays off differently: a basic fighter is worth 50 points, a fast ship 75, and a tank 150. A boss is the big prize at 1,000 plus 200 per wave — and it drops an extra 500-point bonus when defeated. Because boss value grows with the wave number, surviving deep into the run is the fastest route to a monster score.
Sky Shooter channels the golden age of vertical arcade shmups with a scrolling starfield, particle explosions, and glowing bullet trails. This browser version runs from a single HTML file, works on phones and desktops, and saves your top 10 runs to a local leaderboard. It's one of 20 free classic games on ZenClick — ready whenever you need a quick blast.
