Snake is the arcade classic that's been swallowing our attention for decades โ and here it is, free in your browser. Guide a green snake around a 15ร15 board, eat the glowing red apples to grow longer, and try to survive as everything gets faster. No downloads, no accounts, no sign-ups: press START and you're slithering in a second.
Your snake starts as a three-segment line in the center of the board, already moving to the right. Every apple you eat adds one segment and one step of speed, so the game gets steadily harder as you score. The round ends the moment you hit the wall or run into your own tail โ a real threat once the snake fills the board. Space or P pauses the action whenever you need a breather.
Desktop: Arrow keys change direction, Space or P to pause or resume.
Mobile: swipe left, right, up, or down to steer. The game won't let you reverse straight into your own body, and it only registers clean horizontal or vertical swipes so you never get an accidental turn.
Every apple is worth 10 points, plus a growing streak bonus: every fifth apple you eat adds an extra 5 points. Apples 1โ4 pay 10, apples 5โ9 pay 15, apples 10โ14 pay 20, and so on. Speed climbs in step with the streak too โ each five apples shave 10 milliseconds off the move interval, down to a floor of 60ms. Your best score is remembered locally so you always have a number to chase.
Snake traces its roots to the 1976 arcade game Blockade and became a global obsession when Nokia put it on millions of phones in the late 1990s. This browser version keeps the essentials โ a tidy 15ร15 board, a snake with eyes that look where it's going, and apples that glow โ in a single HTML file that loads instantly on any device. It's one of 20 free classic games on ZenClick, ready whenever you want a quick dose of arcade nostalgia.
