Tic Tac Tao is the timeless X-versus-O game you've known since childhood, reimagined with a calm, glowing board and ready to play free in your browser. Two players take turns claiming cells on a 3×3 grid, racing to line up three of their marks. No downloads, no accounts, no sign-ups — just grab a friend and start a round in seconds.
The board is a simple 3×3 grid with nine cells. Player X always goes first, followed by player O, and each turn marks one empty cell with your symbol. The first player to connect three marks in a straight line — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — wins the round. If all nine cells fill up with no winner, the round is a draw.
The game keeps a running scoreboard that never resets between refreshes: X wins, O wins, and draws are all tallied and saved in your browser, so you can keep the rivalry alive across many sessions.
Desktop: Click any empty cell to place your mark. You can also use the number keys 1-9, which map to the grid from top-left to bottom-right, and press R to start a new game.
Mobile: Simply tap an empty cell to place your mark — one-thumb play at its easiest.
There are no per-round points; instead the game keeps a lifetime tally of X wins, O wins, and draws, displayed right above the board. Scores are saved automatically in your browser's local storage, so the running count survives page refreshes and lives on as long as you do.
Paper-and-pencil noughts and crosses has been played for centuries in one form or another, and Tic Tac Tao gives it a fresh digital coat: X draws in glowing green, O in pink, with a subtle sound for every move, win, and draw. It's a local two-player game, so grab someone across the table (or the browser) and settle the score. It's one of 20 free classic games on ZenClick, built to load instantly on any device.
